Municipality
Municipal tax uses the official 2026 rate for the selected municipality. No municipality is selected automatically.

Frequently asked questions
How is salary taxed in Finland?
Salary is subject to state income tax, municipal tax and statutory employee contributions. Yle tax may also apply.
How does state income tax work?
State tax is calculated using the progressive 2026 scale on taxable earned income.
Why do I need to select a municipality?
Municipal rates vary, so the calculator never silently uses Helsinki or an average.
What is the employee pension contribution?
TyEL is the statutory earnings-related pension contribution. The 2026 employee rate is 7.30% of salary.
What is Yle tax?
Yle tax is 2.5% of income above €15,150, capped at €160 for the standard mainland profile.
Is church tax included?
No. Church tax depends on church membership and parish, so it is excluded.
Is this exact tax-card withholding?
No. It is an annual estimate. Your tax card and personal deductions can change the actual withholding.
